Small Group Bible Study Experiences
Design of Short Bible Studies
These short Bible Studies are designed to help you think through and apply the ideas presented in the Scripture text. The questions guide you to interact with the Biblical passages related to each topic. These Bible Study lessons can be used for personal or group studies. As you work through each lesson, the questions will prompt you to dig a little deeper into God's perspective on the topic being discussed. While they draw you to look inward, they guide us to look upward to the One who loves, accepts, forgives and guides with the unwavering care of Jesus, our Gentle Shepherd.
Building Community - Growing Together
Christians often say they have experienced more spiritual growth in small group Bible studies than any other setting in their church. In the second chapter of Acts we would see that the early Christians shared everything in common. They shared life together. In many ways that's what happens in small group Bible studies as people get to know one another and share their life experiences with each other. They end up 'being there' to help and support each other in their time of need.
Experiencing God's Presence
Looking into God's word will guide one to experience God's presence leading to a personal renewal and revival of the soul. It can impact churches. It can bring spiritual awakening around the world. Small group Bible studies serve mightily to help Christians return to their first love, Jesus Christ. As they do, Jesus can work powerfully in and through them influencing others with the love of Christ. A faithful relationship with Jesus is a key to personal and corporate revival.
To Tweet or "Retreat"
In our busy world today, genuine conversation seems to be getting harder to experience. It’s easily replaced with a text message, tweet, or an email. Sharing thoughts in 152 characters or less rather than through face to face interaction. Yes, a message is sent, but rarely is the depth or warm personal connection. Your small group Bible study will provide the unique and important opportunity to foster authentic connections between participants. They can be a safe place for human interaction and conversation that grows people closer to each other while also growing them closer to Jesus. They've even been known to transformed many "singles groups" into a "couples group"!
Small Groups Can Develop Mature Followers of Christ
It begins simply through relationships. Larger church activities cannot be provide the close relational connections. That's why one of the primary reasons Christians and even non-Christians find small groups to be inviting and safe is because they ARE intentionally relational. Since discipleship is inherently relational, small groups provide a natural environment for maturing as Christ followers. It has been shown that people who are actively involved in a small group demonstrate the trademark qualities of discipleship and spiritual growth.
